Research is showing that more and more health issues are related to periodontal disease. The National media has made our patients aware of this health link. With some form of periodontal disease being present in 75% to 80% of all adults, there are now solutions to finally engage the patients in a visual conversation about gingival inflammation, plaque and tartar. Technology will be presented that brings our patients from conversation to treatment. It puts the discussion we have had for years into images that are easily visualized and easy to understand. Solutions will be presented for dental professionals to educate patients in all stages of periodontal disease.
Upon completion of this CE Activity, the student will be able to: identify some of the overall health issues that periodontal disease has been linked to; understand just how prevalent periodontal disease is in the adult population; understand and implement methods to broach a conversation with patients regarding their oral health   ( disclaimer , AGD PACE Statement )
